Solo Nimbus - Personal Project

This started out as a personal project to develop and explore ways to incorporate 3D animation to expand my cloud maidens series. The main objective was to sharpen some of my 3D skills inside of Blender, but also to maintain a distinct visual style through bold colours and experimental layers in post processing. There were a number of ways this was achieved; adding custom node built lighting around the character, creating a custom procedural shader for effects like subtle rain drops moving down the pinstripe suit and animating the character every two frames to emulate stop motion. The raw footage was then run through an AI video generator with different prompts and composited back in and layered on top of each other. These warping elements were applied to mirror the disorientating pull of constant connectivity, suggestive of the way our smartphones distort our perception of time and focus.
